Research summary Building on the Attention-Based View of firm, we elaborate concept dynamic capabilities and identify two constitutive elements: attention control problem-solving. We show empirically that element regulates how organizations (dis-)engage operational vs. change-oriented tasks. On this basis, develop a process model problem-solving interact to reconfigure resources thus modify ordinary capabilities. study adoption lean management in R&D unit large U.S. corporation.
